Try to spend time with your kids while you are moving. Though you suffer from arthritis, you can benefit from sharing a hobby with your kid as it can keep joints and muscles flexible and strong. Take up hobbies like golf, swimming, cycling, dancing and gardening.
Arthritis in the knees can keep you away from spreading out on the floor to play chess, puzzles etc. Instead, you can play them on a table where you can sit comfortably. Or else play games like foosball, table tennis or billiards which can help you move to avoid stiffness.
Taking a balanced diet is good for a healthy weight which means less arthritis complications. Each pound you lose may take four pounds of pressure from your knees. Engage your little ones in cooking and guide them in preparing various varieties.
Do some household cleaning or yard clean up so that they benefit in mild stretches and slow motion exercises. Get help from your kids or grandkids by using pint-sized mops, brooms and rakes. Take breaks between continuous motions so that the joints don’t undergo strain.
Go for a walk along with your kids and your dog. Not only the muscles get benefitted, but it even helps in relieving arthritis symptoms. Walking can moreover improve functioning of joints and muscles, ease pain and improve the quality of life.
