Serositis

Serositis is the inflammation caused in the lining of the human lungs. Apart from lungs it affects abdomen and heart. The inflammation happens when the serous tissues start spreading in the lungs, abdomen, and abdominal organs and in the heart. The serous tissues secrete a fluid that is lubricating in nature.

The main causes of serositis are chronic renal failure, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, lupus erythematosus, Mediterranean fever and inflammatory bowel diseases.

45 percent of the people affected with serositis experience inflammation in the serous membranes. The symptoms of the serositis may appear in relation with the other diseases.

There are a few types of serositis related inflammations. They are:

The serous inflammations secrete fluid into serous tissues and causes inflammation.
Another type of inflammation that is related to serous inflammation is fibrinous inflammation and purulent inflammation.

Fibrinous inflammation

is formed in the surfaces of the serous in the body. It is found in peritonitis. It is formulated by a deposit of fibrin which id thick on the inflamed part.

Purulent inflammation

is always accompanied by of the pus build up that is common in septic infection.

The primary symptoms of the serositis are:

  • Severe pain
  • Inflammation in of the serous membranes
  • Severe inflammation and inflammatory diseases
  • Discomfort
  • Fever

Hyaloserositis

It is an organ coating with a fibrous hyaline. This coating forms as a result of inflammation of the serous membrane, which covers the respective organ.
The iris of the eye is covered with serous membrane. It is very easy to get an inflammation on this area. The eye color changes and it will look swollen and big.
