Palindromic Rheumatism

Palindromic rheumatism normally affects one or two joints at a time and they last for a few hours or a few days. It is because of the uncertainty involved in this kind of condition. It may last for a few months and it can be treated within a year or more. It does not cause permanent damage to the affected joints.

Palindromic rheumatism causes pain and swelling of the joint or joints. The joint area will be warm and will be stiff. The area gets red-colored and disabled.

Palindromic Rheumatism Symptoms
The palindromic rheumatism or PR is considered as an auto immune disorder which may or may not be hereditary. It 20 percent people it is seen as inherited wherein they have a family medical history of auto-immune system disorders.

The primary symptoms of palindromic rheumatism are:

Flare ups can happen anytime in several parts of the body. It may affect two or three joints in a month or year. It may happen frequently in a year making it difficult to diagnose. In this condition the body becomes too painful with numbness and stiffness. Chronic pain and immobility may lead a person to depression.

The treatment for palindromic rheumatism can be difficult because of the onset of swelling and pain. The PR attack may be unpredictable. It can be treated over years.
