The theme for World Arthritis Day 2008 is “Think Positive”. The main idea behind this theme is to highlight the positive things which can make living with arthritis comfortable. Besides experiencing the physical trauma people suffering from arthritis also experience emotional pressure.

Under the theme of “Think Positive” the organizer of WAD wants to highlight that something can always contribute in reducing the impact of arthritis. Hence the World Arthritis Day campaign for this year is mainly concentrating on improving access to various self-management courses and psychological support.

In order to gather considerable statistics for the campaign a global survey is being conducted. This global survey is divided into 3 main sections: one is for arthritic patients’, second is for people who take care of them. This is for first time a section for health professional is included.
