When To Stop Exercising In Case Of Arthritis

Exercise is an excellent way of keeping the body fit. However, some times unknowingly we tend to start exercising in the wrong way, which is extremely harmful for the joints as well as your health.

Also, sometimes one tends to get carried away with excitement and tends to overdo the exercises putting the joints through lot of stress and strain.

Be aware of what is happening to your body. Keep a check and inform your doctor of the slightest change.

When Should You Stop?

Stop exercising when you experience a muscle cramp or pain. If the area around the Joint gets swollen consult your doctor. If not rub some balm around the painful area and continue exercising at a slower pace after the pain has vanished.

 Overdoing the exercise will cause joint or muscle pain that continues for two hours after exercising, also pain or fatigue will worsen the next day. During such times slow down a bit and resume exercising once the pain has vanished.

A good general rule to remember is, to stop exercising if you start having sharp pain or more pain than usual. Pain is your warning signal.

Stop Exercising Immediately when

Exercise when done in the right way will prove to be very useful. During the first few weeks, you may notice that your heart beats faster, you breathe faster, and your muscles feel tense when you exercise. Do not get dismayed and do not panic, this is bound to happen and is a good signal.

 You may feel more tired at night, but awake feeling refreshed in the morning. These are normal reactions to exercise that mean your body is adapting and getting into shape.
